In days of old Boroughbridge proved a popular stop over for travellers of road, river and canal. Today the network of waterways and nearby lakes provides excellent entertainment with boating and all types of fishing. The nearby stately home Newby Hall, is not only a "Must see" attraction with a fantastic adventure playground for children - but from here you can also cruise the beautiful river Ure.

Locally, Boroughbridge boasts some excellent pubs, with the Black Bull (shown on the front cover) serving quality food in a welcoming, cosy environment. With Fish and Chip, Indian and Pizza takeaways every palate can be catered for. Should you prefer more classic cuisine then the excellent Dining Room Restaurant is a ten-minute walk from the Park.
